On January 10, 2018, Svetlana Jesiļevska, the president of the Latvian “Eurointegration and Economic Development” public unit and Ilgar Huseynli, the president the Azerbaijan “Social Strategic Researches and Analytical Investigations” public unit, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The civil society “Social Strategic Researches and Analytical Investigations” has extensive experience in the development of democracy, the European integration and economic integration of the Eastern Partnership countries, as well as the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Azerbaijan. Ilgar Huseynli, the president of the “Social Strategic Researches and Analytical Investigations” is an experienced specialist in the issues of development of small and medium enterprises and local governments. He is a member of the 2nd Expert Group of the Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership, author of more than 200 publications and four books. He led more than 30 projects at local and international level.
The civil society “Eurointegration and Economic Development”, provides consultative and expert support to the European integration of the Eastern Partnership countries, cooperates with innovative research companies. Dr. oec. Svetlana Jesiļevska, the president of the “Eurointegration and Economic Development”, is a co-author of the monograph and author of several scientific publications devoted to the methodological aspects of innovation statistics and problems of the development of innovative companies in Latvia.
The Memorandum of Cooperation signed in order to further strengthen cooperation between public organizations and strengthen efforts aimed at solving current issues related to eurointegration opportunities, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and the strengthening of the role of civil society.
The main areas of interaction between the parties are the following: joint research on the economic development of small and medium-sized enterprises; provision of analytical and statistical information on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises; sharing best practices on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises; organization of conferences and joint participation in conferences, forums, seminars, regional projects on European integration, development of economics and democracy, as well as participation in conferences and public events to promote the historical and cultural heritage of both countries.
In order to implement joint proposals to improve the efficiency of the work, the parties agreed to use different forms of interaction, establish a regular exchange of information and use international experience.
The Memorandum will allow for cooperation at a qualitatively new level and will help to achieve the goals set.
