07 Mar Open Government Partnership Global Summit 2018
As lead co-chair of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), The Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, will host the 5th OGP Global Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia, on July 17-19, 2018. Representatives from more than 70 countries are expected to attend, including heads of state and ministers, public officials, members of parliament, local authorities, civil society representatives, international organizations, researchers, and journalists.
The Summit will provide an excellent opportunity for leaders from OGP’s 75 participating countries, local governments, and beyond to exchange ideas on how they are making their governments more transparent, accountable, and responsive to citizens. It will also be an opportunity for practitioners and experts representing different fields, sectors, and regions from around the world to talk about goals, challenges, and best practices in the implementation of open government reforms, inspire their peers, and push the open government agenda forward to address new challenges and improve the lives of citizens around the world.
Continuing the spirit of co-creation, the agenda for the Global Summit will be based on an open call for proposals. Starting March 5, 2018, members of the OGP community are invited to submit their ideas for sessions and speakers here. We are inviting proposals on the following priority thematic tracks identified by the current co-chairs of OGP – the Government of Georgia and Mukelani Dimba: Civic Engagement, Anti-corruption, and Public Service Delivery. Other topics will also be considered for an open track.
